Paris Jackson ‘Physically Fine’ but ‘Getting Appropriate Medical Attention,’ Attorney Says
Perry Sanders, an attorney for Jackson family matriarch Katherine Jackson, told TheWrap that Paris Jackson is “getting appropriate medical attention” but is “physically fine” following a reported possible suicide attempt.
Sanders also made apparent reference to the 2009 death of Paris’ father Michael Jackson, adding, “Being a sensitive 15 year old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you.”
Sanders added, “Please respect her privacy and the family’s privacy.”
Jackson was hospitalized after cutting her right forearm with a meat cleaver, according to TMZ, which also reports that she left a suicide note. TMZ reports that Jackson also took a large amount of Motrin, and received stitches for her injury. Jackson was placed under a 72-hour psychiatric hold, TMZ says.

Paris Jackson, the daughter of deceased singer Michael Jackson, was hospitalized Wednesday morning after a possible suicide attempt, TMZ reports.
According to TMZ, the 15-year-old was transported to the hospital from the family’s Calabasas, Calif., home at about 2 a.m., after a 911 call was placed.
TMZ reports that the 911 caller reported a possible overdose but also cites a source stating that there were cuts on one of Jackson’s wrists.
TMZ says that Jackson is currently “doing OK.”
The reported hospitalization comes after Jackson tweeted a couple of curious messages early Wednesday morning.
“I wonder why tears are salty?” she pondered in one message.
In another, she quoted the Beatles classic “Yesterday,” writing, “Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they’re here to stay.”
A source tells TMZ that this might not be Jackson’s first suicide attempt, saying she’s “tried this in the past.” However, the source noted, Wednesday’s incident was “far more serious. It was not a cry for help.”
Meanwhile, Jackson’s mother, Debbie Rowe, told Access Hollywood that Paris has “had a lot going on,” according to Reuters. An attorney for Rowe asked that the public show “respect for the family’s privacy.’
“We appreciate everyone’s thoughts for Paris at this time and their respect for the family’s privacy,” an attorney for Rowe said in a statement.
On Tuesday, Paris Jackson also tweeted that she was interested in taking up the starring role of “Doctor Who,” which Matt Smith, who currently occupies the role, will abandon later this year.
“OMG i wanna be The Doctor,” Jackson tweeted, “they said any age & gender, right?”
The reported incident occurred while a wrongful death trial plays out in the courts. Katherine Jackson, mother of Michael Jackson, alleges that AEG Live played a role in the singer’s 2009 death by hiring Dr. Conrad Murray to care for Jackson in the run-up to the singer’s series of 50 planned comeback concerts at London’s 02 Arena.
Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011, after a jury found that he was responsible for Jackson’s death for administering the drug propofol to the singer.’
