MWC pictures of the new Nokia Lumia 720
MWC 2013 didn’t see the high-end Nokia Lumia PureView handset that we all hoped for, but there were a couple more additions to the ever-growing Lumia family – most notably the Nokia Lumia 720. The Nokia Lumia 720 fits underneath the Lumia 820, lacking the 4G skills and the engine room of its bigger brother. Therefore, it will be more affordable (around £200 offline we’re told) and could represent a great step into the Windows Phone world for anyone wary of taking the plunge.
The main focus (pun definitely intended) of the Lumia 720 is its camera setup. It has a 6.7-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens and an impressive aperture of f/1.9. And there are plenty of photo based apps preloaded for editing and playing with your pictures such as Cinemagraph and Nokia Glam Me. There’s also a front facing HD camera for video calls. The display is a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 one (217ppi) and the IPS tech built in makes the blacks nice and dark.
Powering the Lumia 720 is a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and there’s 8GB of storage space onboard – plus expansion using microSD. The Nokia Lumia 720 measures 128 x 67.5 x 9mm and weighs 128g. It comes in five different colours. It’ll be landing in the UK in Q2 2013.
