Olsen twins to launch Elizabeth and James fragrance

Fashion designing sisters venture into the fragrance world with Sephora deal…

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are headed back into the fragrance business this spring, report’s WWD. The sisters who have previously created body sprays, will launch the first fragrance under their Elizabeth and James label with Sephora in March.

Michael McGeever, senior vice president of Sephora Originals, confirmed the deal saying, “We look forward to bringing the modern perspective and fashion philosophy of Elizabeth and James designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to life with this prestige fragrance.”

The twins are self-confessed perfume junkies and are said to be partial to a  spritz or two of Prada’s Tendre Eau de Parfum, Marc Jacobs’ Grapefruit Splash,  Black Orchid by Tom Ford, CK Euphoria and L’artisan Mure et Musc.

While this mixed bag of scents provides little clues about the composition  of the twins’ new fragrance, if you could bottle their cool retro style you  might come up with a vintage-themed scent with a few sweet notes and a  fabulously stylish bottle.

According to WWD, the duo, who previously entered the fragrance  market with a line of body sprays, are debuting their first perfume as part of  their Elizabeth and James label with Sephora this March. This marks the sisters’ first foray back into fragrance  since they first started designing their simple, luxe basics in 2007.

‘We  look forward to bringing the modern perspective and fashion philosophy of  Elizabeth and James designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to life with this prestige  fragrance,’ Michael McGeever, senior vice president of Sephora  Originals, told WWD.

Mary-Kate and  Ashley debuted their S/S 2013 collections for labels The  Row and Elizabeth and James  this week at New York Fashion Week to rave reviews, and they took home the top  prize – Womenswear Designer of the Year – at the 2012 CFDA  Awards for The Row.

This fragrance deal smells like another hit to us.
