As BET celebrated the year in music and several artists such as Mary J. Blige, Anita Baker, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne performed, it looks like the night belonged to Chris himself. He won four awards in total and won the first big nod of the night for Male R&B Artist by beating out Bruno Mars, Usher, Trey Songz and Cee Lo Green. Not too shabby!

As the awards show celebrated the year’s best hip-hop, R&B and gospel music, the performances and legends simply dazzled. The opening and closing acts were like book ends when Mary J. Blige kicked off the show wearing an all-white jumpsuit and performing “Mary Jane (All Night Long” and “You Bring Me Joy” from her award winning My Life album.
Beyonce ended the show with a performance from the Glastonbury festival across the pond, according to MTV. From her upcoming album, 4, she performed “Best Thing I Never Had” and “End of Time.”

As Steve Harvey accepted the Humanitarian Award and Patti LaBelle accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award, perhaps one of the biggest highlight’s is Chris’ four wins.
In addition to best male R&B artist, Chris won the Fandemonium Award, Viewer’s Choice prize and best collaboration for “Look at Me Now” with Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes. According to the Associated Press (via Yahoo!), Chris gave a shout out and thank you to all of his fans: ”I appreciate all the support. I know it’s been a long road, so I appreciate every blessing in front of me.”
