Avril Lavigne Wild Rose Fragrance

A light-hearted fusion of sun-kissed yellow fruits, dewy florals and sweet woody notes…

Avril Lavigne’s third fragrance – Wild Rose– is a light-hearted fusion of sun-kissed yellow fruits, dewy florals and sweet woody notes that embody a vibrant and feminine spirit.

“Wild Rose is about being a free spirit,” says Canadian singer Avril.

The fragrance captures both Avril’s edgy feminine style and playful personality and features notes of mandarin, pink grapefruit, plum, orange blossom, frangipani, blue orchid, musk, sandalwood and crème brulée.

Wild Rose follows Black Star and Forbidden Rose. The collection includes Eau De Parfum, Body Lotion 50ml, Deodorant Spray 150 ml and Deodorant Vaporisateur 75ml.

had put off buying Avril Lavigne’s new perfume, Wild Rose, for a couple of reasons: 1. I didn’t feel I needed a new addition to my perfume collection and 2. I didn’t want to feel like I was buying it just because it is by Avril Lavigne. As a huge fan of hers, it is easy to fall into the trap of buying anything with her name on it; however, my mind was completely changed once I had a sample smell of it!

On hearing the news that I hadn’t smelt Wild Rose yet, my fellow Avril-loving friend Marc practically marched me to The Perfume Shop to try it out! I loved it, but refrained from buying it there and then as I still wasn’t convinced that I needed it. Needless to say, I caved a few days later and…

As you can see, the packaging is very similar to that of Forbidden Rose, Avril’s second fragrance. I knew that the bottle was a similar shape also, but wasn’t prepared for quite how cute it was!

I love that the glass goes from a gorgeous light pink colour to a frosty white – it’s beautiful! I also fell ever-so-slightly in love with the perfume lid – and the accompanying ring!

The ring has the same barbed wire effect as the Forbidden Rose ring, but is decorated with roses inbetween the wire – how adorable!

So, how does it smell? One word: divine! It is slightly sweeter than Forbidden Rose (which is more of a fresh scent) – the best way that I could describe it is that it smells like vanilla cupcakes. It is the perfect scent for winter, and still has some fruity notes underneath the sweetness. Don’t be scared by my mention of the word vanilla though – I don’t particualrly like vanilla as I find it too overpowering, but this is subtle and scrumptious!

I would say that I love Wild Rose and Forbidden Rose equally for different occasions; Wild Rose is much more suited to winter and Forbidden Rose to summer. Black Star wasn’t my favourite fragrance in the world, but it is a matter of personal preference I guess!
